Rigorous and Challenging Academic Program

The Afya instructional model is carefully designed to engage and challenge the middle grades learner. Through flexible scheduling, a workshop approach to classroom learning, clear and consistent expectations, routines, and procedures, as well as allowing student choice, cooperation, and competition, the Afya student is involved and engaged in the learning process. 
   
Our curriculum, grounded in state and national standards, emphasizes literacy and mathematics throughout the school day. Remediation and enrichment courses are built into the daily schedule and a focus on high school readiness drives our practice. Foreign language, creative arts, extracurricular courses, and clubs support student growth and talents.

Our experienced and caring middle grades educators are experts in their content and have a track record of success. Committed to reaching and teaching the whole child, they build meaningful relationships with each child by working, learning, and playing with students on the yard, in the classroom, and after school.
