The Tunbridge PCS program strives to build a sense of community and pride in the school. You see and feel this from the very beginning of the day, when parent volunteers, teachers, and school leaders greet families in the car drop-off line, open doors for the students, and welcome them to the school day. You see this first thing in the morning, in classrooms, when students participate in Morning Meeting and advisory time, greeting one another, talking about the schedule for the day, setting goals for the work ahead. You see this during lunchtime, when teachers join students for lunch, thus creating a calm and friendly atmosphere. You see this during our Friday Socials, when teachers celebrate students’ behavior and academic performance from the week. You see this during our arts celebrations, when hundreds of families come to our gymnasium to see Tunbridge PCS students sing, act, and dance. You see this at the end of the day, when the whole school, the whole community, comes out front for dismissal time. You see this after school, when kids participate in different sports activities, our National Academic League team, various clubs, and the many opportunities provided by outside groups, including Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts.
All aspects of the Tunbridge PCS program are focused on the mission of the school, which is to teach our children to live health, balanced lives. The Owls of Tunbridge PCS do this in their own unique way, with their own unique commitment to community.
