Charter School Facts

Two students making a hand painting A charter school is a public school of choice. There is no tuition charged. Grades and test scores are not used for admission. Charter schools in Baltimore City are a part of the Baltimore City Public School System (BCPSS) and are open to all residents of Baltimore City.

Traditional schools that convert to public charter schools, like Brehms Lane, keep their zone, and may also accept students out of the zone. In many other charter schools, like our sister schools Afya and Tunbridge, student applicants are chosen by lottery.
