About Me

My name is Erin Haggerty and I am your child's fifth grade teacher this year. This will be my sixth year teaching and my third year teaching at TPCS!

I grew up in the greater Baltimore area and attended both Baltimore County and Harford County public schools. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Environmental Science from Warren Wilson College in Asheville, North Carolina and my Masters of Education in Child Studies at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Throughout the years, I have worn many hats! I have been an earth science teacher, a 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classroom teacher, a naturalist for The Nature Conservancy, a researcher at a cognitive neuroscience lab, and have even worked in heatlh insurance! Teaching is my true passion, and my foremost goal is to connect educational research and best practices to everything I do in the classroom.

Like the TPCS mission, I believe that physical health is a crucial component of education and life. When I'm not teaching, you can more than likely find me outside hiking or rock climbing!

I am looking forward to working together to make this year productive and successful. Please feel free to reach out at any point with any questions or concerns.
